The inspiration
For the tenth fragrance in our collection by Eau de Parfum, we decided to cross the Mediterranean to land on the island of Salina, a crumb of land of Trinacria, set in the Aeolian archipelago, surrounded by the sapphire blue of the sea. This island, one of the pearls of the Mediterranean, was chosen as the ideal setting for the creation of a perfume that smells of sea, sun, sand, salt on the skin and…freedom.
The scent
Shells, starfish, warm and brackish sand instead of the usual notes used in perfumery: the olfactory pyramid of Salina is adorned with aquamarine reflections, savory accents and sunny nuances. Bubbly and aquatic, but also warm. Salty and, at the same time, sweet. Subtle and enveloping. Following the evolution of Salina is like deciding to take a walk on a deserted beach at a time of day when the sun has not yet decided to set. With Salina, the sense of smell acquires powers that normally belong to sight, touch and taste. More than evocative, this fragrance is a total sensory experience and each note suggests to the nose what the imagination cannot imagine: the taste of the sea, the green of the maritime pine forest and the coastal scrub, the blinding shimmer of the setting sun reflects on the water, the childish play of the footprints left on the sand, erased by the sea waves and the caress of the sun on the skin.
