“On a pleasant autumn evening, with golden light, the cold suddenly overwhelmed me. Winter would come in together with dawn. Opening the door of the house, I turned to look one last time at the last stem of the tuberose flowers, a gift from a summer that had lasted longer, thinking that in the morning I would go and pick it up to get drunk on its smell for a few more days. Since then, at a time when artificial lights respond to the night, the tuberose spreads a scent of jasmine, plum and spices with its soft voice. It's a whisper, like a breeze, that won't get tired. And every evening, around midnight, her voice fades away, so that we can wait for the same moment the next day. Her smell is like her life, programmed. There is in this flower something of the figure of Scheherazade who told a story every night to escape death. He did it so well that his story, still alive, became a perfume."
