In the 60s Mario Rigaud and his wife Viviane invented the first scented candles in the world, patenting a wax capable of best releasing natural essences. The perfume house Rigaud, founded over a century earlier by the French chemist Jean Baptiste Rigaud, is still today synonymous with quality and craftsmanship. Each candle signed Rigaud it is handmade, contains 12% perfume and owes its color to natural food colourings. For decades it has been possible to find the excellent products of the French brand in the homes of world-famous actors and artists, in the White House, in the residence of the Spanish royal family and even in the Vatican.
