Not everything is always as it appears at first glance. Acrasia is inspired by the early modern poet Edmund Spenser and his epic work The Faerie Queene, dedicated to Queen Elizabeth I. This poem is considered a wildly complex allegory: everything within the work is a symbol and the character of Acrasia (a sorceress residing in a "bewitched bower") represents temptation, transformation, and ultimately destruction. A bewitching, powerful and seductive perfume that cannot in any way leave you indifferent.
