Houbigant Paris, artistic perfumery since 1775
houbigant is a historic French perfume house, founded in Paris in the distant 1775 by the young Jean-François Houbigant of Grasse, a city considered the world capital of perfumes. His surname appears in various historical testimonies of the last four centuries, thanks to the predilection of the nobility and perfume enthusiasts for his fragrances. Even Napoleon, in the spring of 1815, went to the house to make purchases and, year after year, the name houbigant he became known and particularly appreciated in the rich European royal courts. In 1882, thanks to the talent of master perfumer Paul Parquet, the perfume house launched Fougère Royale, a men's fragrance destined to revolutionize modern perfumery and give life to the famous fougère olfactory family. Working for the maison, in 1912 the brilliant Robert Bienaimé created the first multifloral bouquet in history, Quelques Fleurs, an olfactory triumph still sold with great success today.
A tradition to be preserved and handed down over time
Between the thirties and fifties, the French brand expanded considerably even outside France, opening offices in England, Belgium, the United States, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Poland, Spain and Romania. On the threshold of the twenty-first century, however, the last descendant of the family houbigant he was forced to sell all the brands of the maison due to health problems and the long and enviable integrity of the historic perfume house sadly failed. Fortunately, in 2005 the Perris family managed to gain control of the brand houbigant, with the intention of enhancing its prestige and enhancing its glorious reputation within the world of niche perfumery.
